Your essay resonated so much with me. I also left the beloved Bay Area after working as a full time teacher and taking on night/weekend shifts in a restaurant. I miss the city and the California's nature, but I'm cherishing the extra free time I have now that I don't have to worry about working constantly to make ends meet.
